Age 7: Aarush the big boy

Two years in US passed in a whoosh. I have enjoyed every moment of it and you like it too. I have been a stay-at-home mom for the first time and it is something I had to experience to know how much I was missing out on. We spend a LOT of time together, I get to talk to you as much we can and we play together all the time. I can't believe that in just two years, my little baby has grown up to be a big boy, who likes to everything on his "ownself :)". You have a lot of friends at school and in the community. You have picked up many new "grown up" interests. You really like swimming, playing music, recording your how-to videos, conducting science experiments :-/ and building things. It's amazing to see you talking to your baby sisters Tia and Cheeri on the phone. You love your school (thank God!) and meeting your friends at school. You love to explore new hobbies (Taekwondo, Soccer) and we get a lot of family time together on weekends, trips, etc. Pappa loves

Summer Camp at Primrose School of Eldridge Parkway

Hi Aau Primrose School of Eldridge Parkway is your first school in US and your first opportunity to explore a new culture and meet new friends. Although you went for a Summer Camp here for just 1 month (because we moved to Katy the next month), you really enjoyed all summer camp days at Primrose. You visited several new places in a span of a month and you have already explored more of Houston than me and Dad. Some of the places you visited with your new friends were Edwards Theatre, Minute Maid Stadium , Bear Creek Park, Schakolad Chocolate Factory, HEB. Visit to Minute Maid Stadium (you can't wait to go for a baseball game!!)             Treasure Hunt at Primrose School.. You came home with a lot of Pirate Loot    Edwards Theatre for 2 movies - Nut Job and Earth to Echo Chocolate Factory - You came home with a decorated Chocolate Mini-cake HEB Waiting to make a payment for shopping!!

Age 5: Moving to US

Image
Dear Aarush, So, moving to US was not an easy decision for us. Your dad and I both had good jobs, you were happy in the school, we had together built a beautiful home.. all ingredients for 'happy little family' were in place. But, we still took up the opportunity to do something new in life, explore new opportunities, grow and get a better experience our lives wanted to offer. When we told you, you were happy and excited. But I doubt that you understood that you will have to leave many happy relationships behind.. your school and teachers who adored you, your friends and of course, your extended family... Bidding adieu was not easy, and I am sure we will always be in touch and meet them as often as possible.

Adieu to Saplings Nursery School

Dear Teachers, From December 2014, we have stopped dayhome for Aarush Waghmare. But we really feel that his association with  Sapling  Dayhome cannot end so quickly. In the last four years, he has spent many very memorable moments at  Sapling  and has grown up to be a happy, trusting and healthy child. I remember the first time I dropped Aarush at  Sapling  Dayhome. He was only 13 months old and I was really worried about how he will adapt in and accept the place. His first day went well, but over the next few months, he was scared of the time he will have to stay away from us and used to cry a lot. He did not play with other children, was very picky about teachers and care-givers and required constant attention. His crying used to hurt us, but still, we felt comfortable leaving him in your care because you never lost patience with him. He was taken care of and nurtured the way we would do at home. Over time, he started enjoying school and day-home. He cried sometimes because he m

Aarush is three...

Dear Aarush You are a three year old now. You have grown so much... from a quiet baby who just wouldn’t cry much to a toddler who can’t stop being stubborn. You like things your way, you do whatever you want to do... but you also listen to us when we explain things... You like reason, you like to believe. You like music, you love to dance and you love to make everyone dance with you. You talk a lot too. With proper grammar and words, though we don’t understand some words. You like to involve everyone around in everything you are doing. “Hey, what are you doing”, "Hey, what’s this?”, “Pappa look” and “Mama, no talk, shh...” are some of your favourite dialogues. You like to explain everything happening around you. We all obviously can’t take our eyes off you J This year, I decided to study further and complete my Masters. I try to spend as much time as possible with you. You enjoy your Nursery and Dayhome and rarely cry on being dropped to school. Needless to say, we are gl

Aarush is Two

Aarush is two They say every day is a surprise when you have a baby. So very true. Dear Aarush, you have turned two today. I still remember the day when you were born. So delicate and so quiet. You slept all the while. You were quiet and observant while awake and cried only in sleep sometimes. You paid attention when we talked to you. Liked whatever we showed you. All said I was lucky to have a “quiet” and “obliging” baby like you. Well, no one can call you that anymore J J J... When you were over one yr old, you would persist for whatever you wanted to play with, even if I said no. The light switch for instance. I used to tell Dad, that I like it that you were a little stubborn. Pls note... “little” stubborn!!! I had no idea that the cute little obliging baby would turn into a devil-may-care (in this case devil refers to Dad and me), stubborn child that you are now. Don’t get me wrong. We do love the little masti that you do. We record every moment of it whenever we get
