Age 7: Aarush the big boy

Two years in US passed in a whoosh. I have enjoyed every moment of it and you like it too. I have been a stay-at-home mom for the first time. I love working part time, freelancing, etc. and hope to find a job soon, but being at home for this long is something I had to experience to know how much I was missing out on. We spend a LOT of time together, I get to talk to you as much we can and we play together all the time. I can't believe that in just two years, my little baby has grown up to be a big boy, who likes to everything on his "ownself :)". You have a lot of friends at school and in the community. You have picked up many new "grown up" interests. You really like swimming, playing music, recording your how-to videos, conducting science experiments :-/ and building things. It's amazing to see you talking to your baby sisters Tia and Cheeri on the phone. You love your school (thank God!) and meeting your friends at school. You love to explore new hobbie...

Summer Camp at Primrose School of Eldridge Parkway

Image
Hi Aau Primrose School of Eldridge Parkway is your first school in US and your first opportunity to explore a new culture and meet new friends. Although you went for a Summer Camp here for just 1 month (because we moved to Katy the next month), you really enjoyed all summer camp days at Primrose. You visited several new places in a span of a month and you have already explored more of Houston than me and Dad. Some of the places you visited with your new friends were Edwards Theatre, Minute Maid Stadium , Bear Creek Park, Schakolad Chocolate Factory, HEB. Visit to Minute Maid Stadium (you can't wait to go for a baseball game!!)             Treasure Hunt at Primrose School.. Age 5: Moving to US

Image
Dear Aarush, So, moving to US was not an easy decision for us. Your dad and I both had good jobs, you were happy in the school, we had together built a beautiful home.. all ingredients for 'happy little family' were in place. But, we still took up the opportunity to do something new in life, explore new opportunities, grow and get a better experience our lives wanted to offer. When we told you, you were happy and excited. But I doubt that you understood that you will have to leave many happy relationships behind.. your school and teachers who adored you, your friends and of course, your extended family... Bidding adieu was not easy, and I am sure we will always be in touch and meet them as often as possible.

Adieu to Saplings Nursery School

Image
Dear Teachers, From December 2014, we have stopped dayhome for Aarush Waghmare. But we really feel that his association with  Sapling  Dayhome cannot end so quickly. In the last four years, he has spent many very memorable moments at  Sapling  and has grown up to be a happy, trusting and healthy child. I remember the first time I dropped Aarush at  Sapling  Dayhome. He was only 13 months old and I was really worried about how he will adapt in and accept the place. His first day went well, but over the next few months, he was scared of the time he will have to stay away from us and used to cry a lot. He did not play with other children, was very picky about teachers and care-givers and required constant attention. His crying used to hurt us, but still, we felt comfortable leaving him in your care because you never lost patience with him. He was taken care of and nurtured the way we would do at home. Over time, he started enjoying school and day-home. He...

Age 5: Little actor and inventor

Image
Aarush, Age 5 made you kind of an inventor of sorts (without any mission or purpose :-p)!! First and foremost, you are a little actor and love to dramatise everything you do. You have a special array of expressions for happiness, sorrow and even anger and revolt that often put me in splits (at the wrong time). You LOVE drawing.. you can fill an entire drawing book in a day and I often tire of clearing crayons scattered all over the place. You love making story books by imagining new stories. You love cooking new dishes for pappa and kaka (mango juice with turmeric, donut with chapati dough and chocolate syrup and many types of chef special soups). You like to mix liquids in bottles (water, moisturising creams, shampoo, handwashes, etc.. you even created perfumes many times with scented talcs, rose water, etc. till I hid all those). You love to grow new plants and often leave the terrace dirty. You like to invent new games (like Freeze when you drink cold water till someone u...
